Melbourne Cup 2023 result….a tribute to the Green Dots breeding programme.

Followers may recall our article of 9 April 2023 captioned “Soulcombe – Melbourne Cup 2023 – patience the key to reward.
We were so close in our prediction and left pondering if only he had not dwelt at the start losing those 3 or 4 lengths. Having said this, nothing can be taken away from Without A Fight who deserved his victory and won convincingly.
But what a result the 2023 Melbourne Cup was for our new Pedigrees360 Breeding For The Green Dots breeding programme.
We ran through all the 2023 starters pre-race ( should have posted them ) whittling it down to 12 runners pointed to by this programme.
In saddlecloth order these were;

Sheraz – 2 Green Dots ( 1 x OTC ), 6 Yellow Dots
Lastotchka – 5 Green Dots ( 1 x OTC ), 2 Yellow Dots
Magical Lagoon – 3 Green Dots ( 1 x OTC ), 4 Yellow Dots
Serpentine – 2 Green Dots, 5 Yellow Dots, 1 Red Dot
Interpretation – 3 Green Dots, 5 Yellow Dots
Kalapour – 3 Green Dots, 5 Yellow Dots.

From a punter’s perspective the Green Dot programme included both the $11,700 trifecta and the $332,000 first four.
From a breeders’ perspective how can you afford to not utilise the Green Dots breeding programme with your mare to give her the same sort of chance as above?
